In The Spring

"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt." Margaret Atwood

Today, at the end of a beautiful day, I do smell like dirt. I spent quite a bit of time outside in the garden. The garden is just beginning, a new start, built a bit on the old, just like this new adventure I am on. The snap peas are finally coming up. A few at least are poking through.

K and I planted 3 tomato plants. I just bought the tomato plants as starters at our local nursery.

More plants to be purchased and transplanted in the near future as well. I had wonderful company outside, as both K and the beautiful Oriole below helped me out.

This afternoon was exciting, I got my wool from Dyer's Wool, the sheep are raised right here in Southern Colorado by a ranching family. The yarn looks very pretty. A new type of wool for me as well, it is a Corriedale & Tunis blend, with 25% nylon - a sock/sport weight. I can't wait to dye it up and see what it is like, apparently it blooms.

I realize it doesn't look like much now, but just you wait!
